PROJET COMMUNAUTAIRE DE PIERREFONDS

PCP is an impact-focused, community-centric organization providing programs and services that offer 
social, academic, linguistic, and emotional support to vulnerable families and children across the West 
Island.

MISSION & OBJECTIVES

Established in 1995, Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds (PCP) is a community organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. We strive to be deeply sensitive to, and respectful of, the needs and aspirations of families and their children. We value the diversity of individuals from all ethnic communities, and are committed to providing an environment of inclusivity and equality.

Our specific objectives are to:

​

  • Offer a bridge of assistance and relief to vulnerable individuals and families; 

  • Ease and assist recent-immigrant families with the transition to life in Montréal, Québec;

  • Help promote positive mental health and self-esteem; 

  • Prepare children and students for greater academic and socially-based success; 

  • Encourage greater awareness, understanding and appreciation of, and among various community groups; and 

  • Inspire and nurture the spirit of our members to achieve greater self-confidence and independence.
     

VALUES

PCP always tries to adhere to its organizational values when it performs at its natural best. We actively promote these values through our actions, attitude, and communications with our clientele, and with one another.  They comprise:

  • We welcome individuals of all backgrounds, and seek to build bridges of trust, openness and acceptance;

  • We respect and support the needs and aspirations of children, students and vulnerable families across the West Island;

  • We acknowledge the right of an individual to be valued, respected, and ethically treated with dignity; and

  • We are committed to be fully communicative, transparent and accountable to our clientele, donors, partners, volunteers, supporters, and of course, to one another.

PROGRAMS

Effecting Change

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM

For kids aged 6 – 12, we offer a 6-week summer day camp during July and August with weekly themes, plenty of outdoor activities, and special outings.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

For kids aged 3 – 5, this individually personalized program helps prepare kids for the transition to kindergarten. We focus on academic, social and French linguistic skills.

MOTIV-ACTION PROGRAM

For primary school students aged 6 – 12, this after-school, homework-help & tutoring program not only helps with academics, but also addresses social and linguistic skills as well as overall mental well-being.

TOTS & TALKS PROGRAM

For single and/or isolated mothers, this bi-weekly group meeting offers moms the opportunity to gather in a welcoming, safe, and open environment to discuss issues of concern and importance, make new friends, and learn new skills.
